Well, that's not gonna fly. It's like this
Option 1. Make a CDMA version that might sell to at most 2 countries, and get the phone crippled by the carriers (ahem, VZW, ahem)
Option 2. Leave it as GSM device with European 3G, that could actually sell at 4 (or 6) continents.
It's not gonna affect Nokia if you turn away from them.
There is a good chance they will make a American 3G version of this phone.

Point 1: Paying $800.00 for a cell phone is out of my budget, even the $400 - $600 that the N95’s are going for is too pricey for me, locked phone or unlocked phone. If you can afford or are willing to pay that price, that is your choice.
Point 2: I was a GSM “fanboy†for many years, having coverage with Dobson/Cellular One and AT&T. My phones with these carriers always made funny noises around other electronic equipment, and I came to find out it is due to the GSM radio. My friends with CDMA phones did not have this issue, so I decided to switch to a CDMA handset. If GSM was quieter around electronic equipment, I would still have a Curve with AT&T.

The issue you had with the hansets making noise, had to be caused by the phones you had. The frequencies that GSM use(200Khz) dont cause the handset to make noises.Trust me I did the research. not sure who told you that.

EVERY GSM handset, Sony, RIM, LG, Apple (yes I did have an iPhone for like, a day), made noise around other electronic equipment.

I would like to know, what you mean when you say electronic equipment. I've owned Samsung, Sony Ecrisson, Nokia, and two LG's, all of them ATT handset's. I've never had noise come from the handsets around ANY, electronic equipment. What kind of noise were you hearing?

It happens around landline phones, my PC, around musical equipment (guitar amps). The noise almost sounds like a morse code, with occasional longer (2-4 second) noises. The noises are not contstant, it seems like the phone is communicating at random times with the towers.
If other GSM users are not experiencing this, maybe it is the towers in my area, they used to be Cellular One and now are AT&T. It could be that other GSM carriers like T-Mobile are set up differently so this does not happen.

I have used numerous locked and unlocked phones that work with GSM and I do not get any noises around any equipment. As a musician I am around some equipment and have no noises at all. I did give cdma a try out of nothing but a great deal being offered by sprint. I went from 5 years of no dropped calls from cingular/att and good quality calling. To 7 YES 7 dropped calls within 5 days with sprint and nothing but noise on all calls that worked. I used 2 different treo 700's on sprint and went back to the 700 with cingular (unlocked) Sprint and other cdma companies do cripple the phones.

Actually its not just GSM that cause electronic interference. I work computers for a living and my boss had Verizon and this cause the same noises that you would hear with GSM phones. The computer speakers will actually make noise right before you receive a call or message. But its the cellphones that cause the problem. I had an 8925 and my boss had an older flip phone from Verizon. I'm not sure of the brand it was.
