Glad you like it not trying to be a dick. I know it sucks when someone dogs on something you like and own..but that's just my opinion, and the majority are sharing my same sentiments.

I agree with gunny hands-down, and I'm actually loving seeing these similar bad reviews all over the web. It's so stunning they released such a poor phone, to me, because they're promoting the hell out of it in stores.

Mine will be sent back, but if I'd waited a few weeks longer and read these reviews, I never would've bought it in the first place. So I appreciate the trashing of Boulder, because hopefully it'll: A. Prevent people from wasting their time/money on it, and B. Maybe make Verizon take notice.

Would an update help fix the bugs or does this phone just suck?

i was a on vacation this weekend and every verizon store we stopped at they were all sold out of the boulders, i played with the moto 750 and i will keep my boulder. pretty good phone 3 days on battery and you cant turn earpiece volume all the way up keep it at medium and sounds just fine that is all the issues, so far so good.

An update will only fix the phone if they install a new earpiece and (in my opinion) a better battery.

The Moto Adventure is ugly as hell, but it sounds great and the buttons feel good, with definition, unlike the flat Boulder ones.

Yeah, they're all sold out now, but I predict many Boulders will be returned.

Also, phonearena.com has even more bad reviews of the Boulder if anyone wants to read other peoples' takes. (One is mine, but there are like 25 others).

new software available for the boulder. go to menu, settings and tools, scroll down to phone info, hit ok, scroll to software update, hit ok, scroll to check new, hit ok. if this does not download, visit your local store. new software end in M06.

Way ahead of you; downloaded this software on Day 3 of this phone. It maybe fixed the BA bug, but little else. UI still sluggish, and the hardware/battery still as poor as ever.

This little patch does not fix this garbage product.

Agreed phone should be recalled! Verizon's ptt is a complete joke! If you need PTT stick with Nextel!

The PTT is fine with the Motorola V750. Its not the PTT that's a problem, its the Boulder.

Are there any other submersible phones. I have a type S, hopefully this phone will be fixed/replaced by the time I need to replace mine. To me the deal killer is the poor battery life, which could be resolved with the extended battery (which unlike the Type S's can be charged in the cradle). I'm glad I found this forum before trotting down to the Verizon store for "upgrade".

Verizon doesn't offer any other "submersible" device, as the lone water resistant handset is the Boulder. Samsung is getting its feet wet in the industrial phone mkt, though I believe that the GSM carriers will see said handsets first.
Nothing compares to the Type V or S.
