R450 "crashes" when I use an MP3 an a ringtone.
GTRSep 2, 2008, 8:56 AM
The only thing I can call it is "crashing". The phone turns off, and the button lights remain on (if they were on). Pressing the red button doesn't help either, only way out is to take out the damn battery.
This only happens when I put MP3 songs into the memory card, in the "ringtones" folder and set one of them as the ringtone. It plays MP3 in the "my music" folder just fine.
This is very inconvenient, and quite disappointing. When you pay 200 bucks for a phone like this, you at least expect it to ring when you get a call, instead of just turning off. Correct me if I'm wrong.
If anyone has a solution to this, I'd really appreciate if you let me know. If I have to be using a particular file format for ringtones please say so. If i...

uh, yeah dude, of course, I got an microSD card in there. I got the 2GB Kingstone from newegg. It's got life time warranty too. Maybe it's the Card? Or maybe the songs are corrupted or something...I dunno, either way, I'm kinda screwed here haha

It could be the songs or the card. By the way ive never heard of kingstone or newweg. I have sandisk micro sd card. I would take those songs of the fone, then reload them and see wat happens

How did you go abouts putting ringtones on this phone?
...
If you get ringtones from 3rd party sites or Mp3 from there also it corrupts the phone. So it powers off like that. You have to go into settings>memory info>memory card>ringtones>erase>mark all>erase again.
you pretty have to delete all the ringtnes unless you know for sure which are sent you from 3rd parties most of them have an "underscore _" so you know the difference.
