BlackBerry Bold 9000
Stay Away From ATT 3G Network
3G in the US and att is nothing but trouble. Thats why Im not going to get the Bold. ATT towers cant handle all these 3g phones. It cant even handle the iphone alone.

To say that their 3G network is crap, is well crap. It is not the network that is crap is the IPhone that can't handle it. When you are in a 3G market and you are on the internet their are going to be some battery issues as with POWERVISION with Sprint and any other company that is offering broadband like speeds on their cell phones. Your phone has to work to keep up with this signal which then makes your battery drain. Now having said this you add on top of this the email pushes that happen every 15 minutes to 2 hours, (however you have yours set) of course your battery is going to drain no matter what kind of phone you get. I own a Blackjack 2 and I have to charge mine every second or third day in a 3g area. When I am in an Edge area, gues...

i actually had a data training class thismorning and one of the phones introduced was the bold. in this class we had to perform varios tasks and every application ran very smoothly. the phone is amaizing. i have been an avid blackberry user and this is by far the best model. so dont knock it till you try it!

Yeah, try using your data service outside of the Alltel calling area. They don’t have agreements for data service in all markets; they only have those agreements for voice calling only. Maybe if you stop with the flash in the pan fads, & got a Blackberry. You wouldn’t be making such stupid comments! Chicago...San Fran...LA...St louis...never had a problem...my ATT wouldnt even work in my house..while my alltel was sitting a perfect 5 bars...try telling this crap to someone who hasnt had every carrier at least once

Okay so they don't have service at your house, but if you look at all these places that you have visited, they are big city and AT&T does have GREAT service in these areas. I don't doubt for a minute that you didn't have service at your house because as with ALL carriers you will have service with one carrier that you won't with another. To say that their service is not good is not a correct statement; I have people in my family that can only get service with AT&T and not with Alltel. It may be sucky for you but great for someone else.

What I find hilarious is that the two of you are so ridiculous as to argue back and forth about known issues with ever wireless provider. Yes, there are spotty areas of service with 3G, and yes Alltel is a good company as well. But let's face it, AT&T has the largest network, the most towers, the best signal overall, and the best working phones. I personally use the iPhone 3G and have gotten to use to Bold. Both work wonderfully on the 3G network after the software update on the iPhone, and the Bold works perfectly right out of the box. So unless you 2 infants are going to battle it out to the death....SHUT UP...You 2 are ridiculous.

You have a lot to learn!!! Just because a carrier has the 3G network. That does not mean every cell site is equiped with 3G radios. You may have a 3G phone, but the site its connected to may not have 3G yet. It would be nice if you educated yourself before you make a stupid statement. As I hate to give you your due, Alltel does have an EVDO sharing agreement with Sprint. I think they only two I know of that share 3g at this point and time. I'm sure it will change after the assimilation by VZW and for the better.

The AT&T 3G network is beyond awesome. Before you ask...Yes I am an AT&T consumer. I have been with other wireless providers and believe me 3g is the best. Yes the Iphone has had and has it's issues and is still a work in progress. It is not that bad of a phone. Now the bold? Welcome our newest addition to the family! (yes i work for the company) Many were wondering, waiting, asking when it was coming out. It took a while because all the testing AT&T did on it. The company just wanted to make sure it was working perfect. You got to admit though it was well worth the wait. 😁

I think people need to realize its not where your from its where you at and yes the mobile device does play a factor. I live in downtown san antonio and i have had nokia 6126 (edge) and lg shine & VU (3G) and never had any sort of issue with data or voice. If you live in the burbs or in sticks and you expect perfect coverage your not going to get it... To bad the providers don't allow us to view their actual RF footprints... 😎
