tethering

hey guys,

sorry for such a simple question but i'm a new blackberry user..just got the bold and read forums about people tethering it to there laptop to go online...can this be done without the additional tethering package or you have to pay extra for it?

any help is appreciated...thanks

I will give you the official ATT answer, and that is that you will need to sign up for the Blackberry tethering plan at $60 per month. This will give you unlimited internet usage on the phone and unlimited tethering for using your phone with the computer.

what about unofficially? can other software be downloaded to use tethering capabilities without the plan?
