Using Email2 to store contact addresses?

The charging port on my 8600 broke out. Lucky for me, I am NE2 eligible in 5 days.

Considering between env2 & choc 3. I played with both in the store, and neither seem to allow me to enter a text note into the Email2 contacts field. It seems they have placed an edit on this field to be in email address format.

This was a disappointment to me. Does anyone know of a way to hack/remove this Email2 validation check?

Can BitPim be used to place an address into the Email2 contacts field?--it would be great if someone could test this for me as I am unable to do so without owning the phone.

Thanks for the assistance!

I have a LG Voyager and I do what you do all the time -- I put additional info on the contact in email2 spot. I know that you did not mention that the Voyager was an possible phone for you, but it is very similar to the Env2. I find the Voyager's keyboard the easiest to use (I have big fingers).

Sincerely,

Asif

Asif,

Thanks for the reply. I looked at the Voyager, but the slight increase in size and bulkiness is enough to make it not of interest to me. I played with the Env2 in the Verizon store and was proficient with the qwerty keyboard, but, then again, my fingers are not too large to handle the smaller keyboard.

Another thing that has me interested in the Env2 is that I think I can get and keep my old Verizon Amercia's Choice II plan, which has more minutes for the price then the new Nationwide plans they have, and I am not a mobile web user--just use it as a phone and about 100 text messages max/month. In fact, I historically have done so little texting that I am considering the LG choc 3 flip instead of the Env2 for its smaller size (...

It doesn't check to see if what you entered is a valid e-mail address or not.

It simply doesn't allow you to enter anything that has spaces in between them.

So whatever you type that needs a space separating it needs to have something in place.

Example:
Verizon sucks!

Needs to be typed:
Verizon_sucks!

Just like that or whatever you want to use to separate words. Hopefully it gets changed but I've used that as a workaround for now.
