Mine's like that too. Coming from an 8300, the vibrate is definately weaker.
I can still feel it but it's not the earthquake the 8300 was. But I'm cool with it cuz it vibrates just enough for me to feel it but not loud enough for others to HEAR it.
Yeah, the 8300's vibrate was strong enough to actually be HEARD, lol!

Is this something that can be addressed in a future software update? or is it a hardware issue?

I'm guessing it's a hardware issue. An update could make it vibrate longer but I doubt it could make it vibrate stronger ☹️

i could be wrong, considering i dont know how it vibrates exactly, but it could be software. if its a motor with an off-weighted gadget (the more weight is off to one side, when it spins it vibrates) then it could be told to spin faster, thus making more vibrations. but i dont have much knowledge in this department and could be totally wrong.
