can you read text messages on the outside screen like on the 8100 and 8600?

so how do u prevent people from seeing your text messages on the outside of your phone if u sit it down? You can't lock out that feature?

You have to unlock the front screen to read them. They don't show up on their own.

But to unlock the phone dont u simply just click the little side button? What kinda lock out is that? Am i missing something here?

I don't understand. What's the difference? If the guy can UNLOCK the button, he could also flip open the phone and read? This is not about preventing other people to read, it's about making you easier so you don't need to flip open the phone everytime.
