I'm looking into alternative web browsers for the Rant. Has anyone heard of Teashark Alpha? The download page said, "To install TeaShark Alpha, your phone must be able to support Java MIDP 2.0. Please consult your phone manufacturer to check if your phone supports Java MIDP 2.0."

I contacted Samsung and after deciphering the Indian accent was told "Samsung doesn't support Java, call your service provider."

I know my phone supports Java, but does anyone know if it supports Java MIDP 2.0?

I'd also like to know how to install applications with .jar (and other) suffixes once I've uploaded them to my phone from my computer.

It is really difficult to upload ringtones and java applications onto your Samsung Rant manually, trust me, it is difficult.

Easy way is to use your browser, go to whatever website you go to download applications, and directly download. This however uses Data im afraid. 🤨
