IRU ISSE AT APPLE STORE
My bill is fine, my plan does not have a corporate discount and now I am eligible for an upgrade.
Stood in line from 7:30 to 12:30 before I got in.
APPLE WOULD NOT SEEL ME AN IPHONE.
Apparently there is some sort of IRU issue (WHAT IS THAT) and I can only purchase thru a corp at&T store.
This is my 2nd Activation NIGHTMARE. My first one was in June, 2007.
Has anyone else had this issue?
What I find odd about your situation is they would not sell you the phone. This leads me to believe that you have a CRU account which stands for Company Responsibility User, which means that there is someone that orders all of the phones for your company.
I could be wrong, I wouldn't be able to tell what the problem is without looking at your account to give you more information, but I can not do that without you in the store. So please call customer care (1-800-...

Both the Apple employees and At&T folks were polite and helpful as they could be.
Apple is holding my phone for me while this issue is resolved, so I still have service on my current phone and have an iPhone waiting for me in the store.
Annoying after waiting in line for over two hours, but I met some very nice people and we had a good time.
Anyway, that was my situation - they removed my CRU acct even though I was an original iPhone owner - at one point I switched to a V3XX for about 2 months and then went back to my iPhone. at&t never removed my CRU for my company even though I was not getting the discount. I called customer service while in line (4 hours before I made it into the Apple store) and they removed it.
But, that may be the issue - needing 24 to 72 hours for the system to truly clear my acct of the CRU.
So, all in all after 4.5 hours in line and 3 hours of trying to get this resolved between Apple and at&t, I went home without a new iPhone.
