Nokia E71 / E71x
Getting E71 Tuesday. Few Questions
I'm switching from an iPhone 3G and trading it to someone for an E71. I was wondering (and hoping) if it syncs (contacts, calenders, etc) with Macs.

I'm assuming as a s60 phone the Mac connection will be the same as my n82 connecting to my Mac. There's 2 different programs, one to sync calendar, mail, contacts, etc, and another to sync media- Itunes, Iphoto, etc. They will both auto detect if you have that setting on, and update your phone's files.
He is right - updating firmware can only be done by a PC - if you want an "auto-update" feature. You can download the update file, migrate it to your phone, and run it independently though. The solution is not elegant - but these are extremely complicated systems they're meshing. And face it - in the mass market world everyone builds to sync with PCs.
