Does anyone know if the Omnia will have Vcast available? I gotta say this is one of the things that urns me off about the Storm....how can a flagship model not offer Vcast?

Also, will Omnia require a data plan like the Blackberry models?

Thanks in advance 😁

This phone looks like every other Samsung phone that all the rest of these companies are coming out with worthless, the G-1 or the I-PHONE are the only phones on the market that offer just about anything you can think of and will need in a phone.

Try typing a couple of sentences on this Organ or whatever it is called

VERIZON= Worthless

Are you serious? I have both Verizon and AT&T. Best phone currently on VZW, IMO, is the Dare. Now here you go talking about Android and iPhone, and they beat the S60 devices ala Nokia N95, N96, N82, etc....exactly how??

IMO you probably need a $400 deposit and that's why you don't like Verizon.

Only an At&t fanboy would say that! At least Verizon knows how to keep calls from dropping, which is what the primary factor of having a cell PHONE is for...making a phone call.

"offer just about anything you can think of and will need in a phone."

What if what I'm thinking about is picture messaging?

Can anyone explain why the I-phone can't do this basic function?

I would like to know if this phone requires you to have a data plan as well, since I am not very familiar with Verizon's data requirements. I would be interested in this device just on a regular phone plan, not data.

Yes, all smartphones with Verizon require a data plan, as of 11/14.

if you get any PDA phone staring with the Saga till now you do, but if you get a motorola Q, you dont.

ive just seen this too, it says unlimited data for 49.99 which comes with the PC hook up to acess internet on your PC/Mac.

ill check into this.

not true.

I work for the company.

you do not need a data plan for PDA devices. Only blackberry as RIM mandates so

and it is not $15, that is vcast. data plan is the Email and Web plan for 29.99 or 44.99 for the corporate email version.

careful though because even if you have the select plan (unlimited messaging) picture messaging will use kilobytes as will emailing and web browsing (duh!). texting goes off the 1X network (voice) and will not use data. is the data network.

just so you know

if you work for the company, read your email. 🙄

All PDA's that were/will be released after 11/14/08 REQUIRE at least the email and web plan for 29.99. No more pay as you go or 24.99. Phones released prior to 11/14 (moto Q, centro, treo, etc) still don't require one.

you know, I belive the plans are different in every area of the country.

I honestly have not received an email about it and i have since placed many orders for PDA's and it does not require for me to add a data pkg like the blackberries do.

HOWEVER

i just went to the website and it is not letting me buy it with a data pkg. maybe its just on the internet. but maybe us customer care people have more access. aarrrgggghhhh. if this is real i'm gonna be so mad. I'll go to work today and check it out

My suspicion is to keep the cost of the plan down, just like the cable providers do.

For example, when you get expanded basic cable you usually aren't targeting getting ESPN, Oxygen, and Sci-Fi - odds are you only want one or maybe 2 of those channels. However, by pooling all the buyer into one they reduce the cost for each user. If you bought channels individually, your cost per channel would be greater.

Hence, unlimited from phone data plans have gone from $45 to $30 but you are required to get it with a smartphone or blackberry. Considering the vast number of users will want to at least use the email features of the phone along with light web browsing, it is reasonable.

So, yeah, a few users will be really ticked off - but its...
