Omnia wifi is out.
After getting escalated to Samsung CS from Verizon and them tell me they are aware of the problem I am beginning to think I was too early getting this. I cannot get on my home wireless today even though I did yesterday. Today I installed VZ navigator and after that my wifi button in wireless manager does nothing, it stays in the on color of blue not the grayed color of off but will not find the network. I cannot even turn the button off to try to reset it. It's locked up. Tried the soft reset option but still the button is stuck on blue and no wireless.
The phone works so it dials #777 to get the internet but not wifi. I spent a lot of time with this and nothing to show for it, and I'm not will ing to do a hard reset yet. Frustrating!

Just an idea, try powering down and then turn the phone back on. Every blue moon the phone (s) need to be re-booted like a computer does. Just an idea. Hope it helps.

Have you tried pulling the battery instead of turning off?

I got this phone and set up the wifi then had the same thing happen to me the next day. Its like wifi isn't even there. I talked to our Samsung rep about this (I work at a Best Buy Mobile) and he says its a known issue that some people are having and they are working on a fix. I've found that it is sometimes related to the wifi power save feature. Under settings - power scroll all the way to the right and uncheck the wifi power save option. This worked for a day or 2 then I had to go back in and check the box again. I don't think it matters whether its checked or not but rather when you make the change it must cause the phone to refresh the wifi status thereby enabling it again... at least temporarily.
Hope this helps some people get ...

This is exactly what I reported here several days ago. I am on my third Omnia and this one experienced the same thing yesterday. The WiFi had been working fine, then I was in Borders and the WiFi would not turn on. I turned off the power save feature, and WiFi worked. I am wondering too if this may have something to do with the settings it takes the first time you use it. When I was in my house the first day with the phone, it found my home network immediate and remembered the password to the network. I wonder if that affects ability to find the next network?

That may be a bug in the first version of the software. My pre-production unit had that issue, and the fix was a hard reset (which did the trick, but you do lose any data not backed up.)

I have voice notification of an incoming call enabled in settings, yesterday it worked fine, overnight the setting disabled itself and if I had not seen the backlight on I would have never known I got a call. I enabled it again today so we'll see. I was specifically told by Samsung not to hardset the phone in that they were working on firmware right now for it. If it had backup assistant on it I would do the hardset anyway.
This is not a good test for the thirty day trial though if I can't use all the features for a few weeks. I have called a lot of people from the contacts page that I did not mean to call by hitting the wrong button but that could be me and my eyesight. What else did you notice with yours? Thanks

I cant seem to turn off the wireless on the phone under the Wireless Manager 👀 It was working fine, but then all of a sudden I cant turn that feature off. It will allow me to turn off the phone and bluetooth but not the wireless 😡
So frustrating since this is my first smartphone and I have spent hours with it so far. I did try taking the battery off and rebooting but no luck yet. I just dont want to do a hard reset.
As for your contacts have you tried adding them into your outlook address book? I did that with all mine last night, so I can just sync them whenever I need to. Took forever to do..but worth it.

This happened to me. Try this first.
Go to Settings - System - Power - Battery
Scroll on the bottom until you see the WiFi tab and select it.
There is one option if it is checked uncheck it. If it is unchecked check it.
Then see if you can turn off WiFi.
This might work or it might not. If it doesn't work you have a bad phone. I returned mine to Verizon for this issue and got a new one. That phone also had a bad touch pad so convincing them to replace it was easy.
