Hi, stumbled across site tonight, glad for the information. Shopping between the Omni, Dare and Storm. Checked out my brother's Storm and to me it was twice the work to use it. Can't decide between the Dare and Omni...any advice? Have to admit, I really don't use web or email....yet....Appreciate any input..
...
play with all 3. the storm is very ez to use once you get past the learning curve. if you want windows go with omnia, if you want the tried and true go with black berry, if you want LG go with LG. all do pretty much the same. i just like how storm has the biggest screen. better for movies and internet.
good luck with your choice.
...
Storm does not have WiFi. If you ever are out of Verizon service, you may want Wifi.
...
can I download music and movies from Limewire? How good is the music player?
...
Thanks for your replies. I have tried out the Storm but not the Omnia yet. The Dare didn't really do anything for me. I am very new at using a cell phone for anything other than cell calls and text messaging.....I like the Storm's screen for sure....but I hear so many good things about the Omnia. We'll see. Thanks again for your input.

Just as a friendly reminder that if you are wanting just a phone and do not need web and e-mail the Dare is a great phone and I have had mine since July and love it. But with the Omnia and Storm you will need the Data package plus a text package if you are using any texting.
...
I do use my phone for web browsing.
...
cool. then the Omnia will work greatly.
...
If you go with the omnia get about 6 batteries if you plan on using it all day the battery sucks big time i know i returned the omnia for that reason.
...
I am leaning twords the IPhone. I played with one at an ATT store and loved it. I just hope that the service in the Metro NJ/NY area is as good as advertised.
...
AT&T in this area sucks the freaking big one. I haven't found anything that works as good in this area.
...
Again, all of your replies have been great. I have spent quite a bit of time surfing the net for reviews regarding the Storm and Omnia....seems as if there are a lot of "fixes" going on for all of them, including phones from other cell carriers....is there a tried and true that has been around that would be better to get? I need a phone for cell calls, text/picture messaging, internet use...possible emails....calendar.....in other words my laptop with phone service....am I asking too much? I am so uneducated about these phones! What is Rev A? I guess I'll play and try them out for a while as you have advised. All of you have given me great info and advice. Appreciate it very much.

Thanks, I try to imput what I cn. I did get my hands one a Omnia last night to try and I liked it. I have been very happy with the Dare but want to upgrade to a real PDA phone and I haven't gotten the chance to really try the Storm yet. Most of the stores in this area are out and now the new Rumor is the fix is out for them. My plan is to Give my wife the Dare sell her Voyager on Ebay then get the Samsung. I want a little more time with the Omnia. I have to switch to a data plan so looking at the cost is one of my deciding fators. Good luck.

I had the storm, and after about an hour I decided it needed to go. I did keep it for 3 days just to give it, it's dues. But I found that it was not very responsive, took forever for the screen to switch from portrait to landscape. Also if you do a lot of txting or typing I would recommend against it. The click screen is kind of annoying especially if you are sending a long txt. I actually found my thumbs getting sore from having to push the screen down.
the above is my opinion of the phone, character assassinations not needed. 😁

I have heard that and after playing with one last night it will not do the job. I just started doing a lot of texting. That was one thing I do like about the Dare. I just type to fast and can't spell worth a darn. Thanks for the imput.

I know using a phone in the store is not the same as owning it but, I just spent a good 30 with the omnia and it is great. TXT is a breeze, very accurate and responsive. The accelerometer works great and has sensitivity settings. Not sure about the touch wiz (prefer HTC touch flo) but it works well and is very finger friendly.

I noticed on Verizons site they have a Nationwide Connect plan. Will this work with the Samsung Omnia?
...
No I dont think it will. Those are typically for BREW (non PDA) phone. They offer mobile web not full web. The PDA phones require a data plan. So you would have the voice plan plus the unlimited data at 29.99.
...
Thanks, looks like I'll be grabing the 79.99 plan.

if you want tried and true, go with the dare. its been out the longest, i have had mine since release in july. i love it. ill be getting my omnia on thursday to try it out, and sold like 6 storms and they are good, and once fixed maybe the best (knowing bb's track record). as of right now, i have the dare and love it. if you use t9 text input, its AMAZING. im faster on my dare then my buddy on a flipshot.
either way, you will be happy with any of them i think.
NOTE: the storm/omnia require $30 data plans, the dare gets the $15 vcast internet, but you can cancel it. can NOT cancel the storm/omnia plan
