I am using the Voyager, and I love it, but still feel that the Omnia looks like a worthyupgrade....
To those texters who've come from a non touch, how would you rate the transition to touch only?
Thanks!
...
Now keeep this in mind. The Omnia is a PDA phone so you will need to get a data plan and a text plan or the $99.00 which gives you unlimited text and pictures.

if you want to text and pic, u can pay per msg (25cent pix/20cent text) sent/recieved.
but its not a requirement.
maybe i read your previous post wrong, but it sounded like it was required
...
Right. If you do a lot of texing then you'll want to add the packagebut if you don't then you do the pay per text plan. Thanks,

I hate the touch only, but I am still keeping the phone. I was a capable texter on my MotoQ, but on this phone, I can hardly get two letters in a row correct. It is a lot easier with the stylus, but not with two thumbs.

hey try the t9 option on the phone, it uses the 1-9 keypad.
my dare has the full qwerty and i dont use it, but i like the t9 on the dare better then on a reg phone, it works amazing.
i dont know how well it will work on the omnia.

I came from a Samsung 760, so I'm used to a full keyboard. I've found the keyboard to pretty worthless unless you use the T9 option which works pretty well, but I don't think I will ever be as fast as I was with the real keyboard and my thumbs.

I just moved to the Omni from a Voyager I used for a year. My order shipped on 11/26, so I've had some time with the phone. First of all, I'm keeping it. The Omni is truly amazing and comparing the Voyager to the Omni isn't a fair comparison to the Voyager. The Omni is so customizable and powerful. For example, if you get tired for its appearance, various programs, free or at cost, allow you change the Omni's appearance, allowing for an HTC or iPhone themed phone. No mobile tv with the Omni, no problem, download a program that supplies similar features. You get the picture.
My time with the phone has lead me to believe there are two draw backs - - in my humble opinion; a dedicated GPS system, usable only by the VZNavigator program...

Did you pay alot more for you plan when you upgraded? I am on the Premium Nationwide Plan now.
...
I also had the Premium plan, that pretty much included everything, and I also the Vcast Mobile TV package.
My new plan is Nationwide Select, the data plan for smartphones/PDAs, VZNav and Visual Voice-mail. All of this is coming out to about the same price, maybe a little more a month.
Of course pricing is the most convoluted piece of the puzzle. Before I committed to anything, I called Verizon and asked a lot of "what if" questions, so when I finally decided, I knew exactly what I was getting into.
