serious question for omnia owners
willvDec 10, 2008, 12:37 PM
here is the deal. i really like the omnia.
i own the dare, and a curve, which i plan to sell to get the omnia
my question is this....
IS THE OMNIA WORTH IT?
its gonna cost me about $500, so i wanted to know if its worth it.
thanks for the help/advice 🙂

I'm not sure its worth $500. Personally, I would buy an Iphone if I didn't need Outlook email. There are a lot of things that I thought would be good about this phone that aren't as good as I thought. Such as Podcasts. I thought it would be a good replacement for my Ipod since it can download podcasts. Well, every site I tried to download from didn't work as I get some "incompatable" error or something. So I have to manually transfer the podcasts each day. And playing them is a pain. Its a two or three step process unlike the Ipod. There are other complaints and some good things, but all in all I would say it isn't worth $500

I like it, too, but at 199 minus rebate.. Everything you need to do on it takes more than one step, so it can be frustrating.

I told a friend not to get the omnia but she got one anyway.
I have the same problem w/podcasts. Who will take responsibility for updates. Is it more of a windows mobil or Verizon responsibility?

i love it, but im returning it when i first got it, the battery life lasted 3 hours then i did a hard reset and it started lasting 2-3 days now all of the sudden battery is working terrible again the touch screen is unresponsive and wifi does not turn on...i dont even send texts anymore because its such an issue...stick with your curve or dare...dare is the most responsive touch screen vzw has to offer, i personally am going back to the curve and gonna wait till the javelin hits vzw or niagra whatever you call it
