Samsung Omnia i910
widget question
just got this phone and haven't gotten around to manual yet, but does anyone know how to make any program or app on the phone a widget instead of the standard 10 that you have an option of? it only lets me play with time, calendar, background, fm radio, mp3 player, clock, and a few others. i wish to be able to add shortcuts to certain internet sites as widgets or turns other things into widgets. any ideas?

The rep in the store said you could delete widgets and programs you don't want and alluded that you could add widgets. I read every page of the manual and there is nothing about this. I wish I could take screen shots of web pages.

Just got the i910. Can the Wydget Tool Bar be modified? Do not see it in the manual antwhere.
Also, on the Phone Book Icon, can it be expanded to store more than four contacts?

no the widgets cannot be modified! There is a new update out for the GSM version that allows that and adds some more cool things(in beta i think). Not sure if Verizon is going to pick up this update to allow us to modify our widgets!

Correct. The widgets are not modifiable right now on the i910. Cant create or delete. All you can do is disable the widgets and use Samsungs other Today screen (all icons like the iphone) or go w/ a standard Winmobile Today screen or add 3rd party like SPB Mobile Shell to create your own Today screen.
The earlier comment about a Verizon rep saying you could modify/create/delete widgets is another prime example of why Verizon needs to take accountability for horrible sales reps and get rid of the re-stocking fee. They say the rep will sell you what you want based on your needs. But if your rep misinforms, then you get screwed. Which is what happened to me with my Storm. We were all misinformed of the Storm's ability. There was no way I was...

good point, I also got screwed with the storm, i asked the sales rep and he made it clear to me that it would support slingbox. It doesn't. I took it back and got the omnia, I've just had it for a few days now, am having trouble assigning my hotmail to it. Also, do you know if this phone can get a facebook shortcut?
