i tunes
Ipod recently broke and I'm considering buying the omnia, and not another ipod. Is there a way to sync it with i-tunes, or to play music purchased through i-tunes on the omnia?
...
Specs say the Omnia will play AAC files. I have not tried that. I feel that is not be a problem to play AAC files.
In order to use ITunes to Sync to the Omnia and place the AAC Files on the Omnia, ITunes would need to recognize the Omnia don't you think? I am not sure if that is possible.
I will look into that possibility. Right now, I think that it would not be recognized. We will see.
You can use Active Sync to work something out with AAC Files.

I did not have any success with the ITunes and the Omnia.

I am making an assumption here (i don't have Omnia yet), but based on my knowledge of iTunes and iPods, you won't be able to sync the Omnia with iTunes. Any copy protected music bought from the itunes store won't play on anything but an iPod. If you bought itunes Plus songs (non-DRM'ed), they may play, but you might have to move the files over manually (through activesync).
I now buy pretty much all my music from the Amazon MP3 download store.

I can't speak specifically for the Omnia, but I've made songs bought from iTunes play on other VZW phones. The trick is to burn them to CD and rip them into Windows Media Player, which changes the format. You shouldn't have a problem syncing with Media Player. I'm not sure if there's an easier way, I haven't played with it very much.
