If only T-Mobile......

I really love T-Mobile and their services do not get me wrong. With a really wonderful device such as this, T-Mobile needs to improve their coverage. Forget the roaming agreements.

Are you serious?! Dial up at best? You clearly do not have T-Mobile and have absolutely no clue what youre talking about...

i've had t-mobile. and had a KRZR and a sidekick (2&3) and i agree with the internet speed. edge no matter where you look is dial up. sometimes it can be faster with a blackberry's BIS servers, but not always. 3G is the way to go in my opinion...but edge will get the job done when need be.

oh or just get a UMA phone and call it a day! haha

My T-Mobile DASH was faster on EDGE then my G1 was on 3G. My current 8900 is faster on its EDGE then my Co-Workers iPhone on 3G.

Your comparing your KRZR and SideKicks internet speeds? All jokes aside, Sidekicks are Play-Skool. They are not a smartphone.

Sidekicks are ment for TeenAgers who do nothing more then Text message, myspace and make a few calls. The sidekick is made with those same intentions. You cant compare a Sidekick made for a highschool to a Blackberry made for those finishing collage.

I mean no disrespect to Sidekicks or Sidekick users. I for one am grateful they are a phone option. However, you are largly mistaken when you say "Dail Up" at best.

FYI: Its not edge, the 8900 uses EDGE ADVANCED.

To respond to all these comments. My blackberry used as a modem would give me easily 150kb/s average. The blackberry is not the best internet phone because it has to request everything off an additional server before retrieving it on the phone. The dash is a pretty nice phone and internet is not bad at all on it. Overall 3g > edge all the way. T-mobile HAS the 3g coverage... just wish the gvernment would get off it so we can fully launch the network. Oh, and reception is a HUGE part of internet speed so if you have no reception, don't expect internet speed to be high.

Dude - spell check.

Although I have to admit the irony of spelling "college" incorrectly is fantastic.

And exactly how fast is "Dail Up"?

Why spell check? I mean, I know we should be proper and all but seriously...im at work typing between customers. I could care less how I spelled something so long as the point got across.

Instead of spell checking, how about I just type what i got to say in the smallest amount of time so that I can go on with my day?

Better yet, spell check for me. Thanks.

i understand that sidekicks are not 'smartphones.' however they still used the EDGE network just like the KRZR just like a blackberry. the major difference is that blackberry has servers aka BIS that compress data and push it to your device faster. the KRZR and any sidekick does not have that.

i've used many phones and sold many phones. if its not a blackberry than edge is simply dial up. if its a blackberry then edge is going to be dial up x2 in my opinion.

and to quote phonescoop: Packet Data Technology: EDGE

I have no debate with your opinion. I was a little defensive when I spoke on the aspect of Dail Up because I know for sure my phone is faster then Dail Up (though, I own a Blackberry). I never used the web (as much or often) on non-smartphones so I think your opinion is acceptable.

Your also right about Phonescoops discription. Unfortunatly I dont remember where I saw the EDGE ADVANCED article so I can not support my claim. It was something I simply read somewhere when looking into the phone.
