t-mobile data plan & 8900
can you purchase the 8900 from t-mobile without getting the data plan? I tried and the sales rep told me they arent allowed to sell it without the data plan. is this true and if so, is there a way around it? thanks

The only way around it I know of is to buy it used. I bought my 8900 used and in excellent condition. When I started it up i could make calls and used txt based on my current plan. after a week i decided i wanted the blackberry plan, but before that Tmobile had no clue i was using a blackberry without their BB plan and the phone worked fine. Also, you will not be able to set up email service without the BB plan.
