HTC, another powerful but useless phone
This phone has a lot of horsepower, but with those looks and the crummy keyboard its such a waste.

Take a look at one of them in a store. This device is the first one actually put out by HTC and not UTStarcom. The keyboard is very easy to use it is the first device to incorporate what is called the "Inner Circle". This is basically a list of people whose e-mails you actually CARE about recieving on your phone. For most, we get junk and spam and emails from our boss that we don't want at 3am. With the Inner Circle feature, you can select and choose whose emails you want to see right away. I think it's a great device. Don't give up so easily on HTC because of their failures with Palm and some other Windows Mobile devices.

so ur sayin the htc touch, touch pro, 6800 and all the rest werent made by htc?

I'm not sure what you mean. UTStarcom has handled North American marketing, distribution, and support for HTC in the past, but those older devices were still designed and made by HTC.

This phone is the first phone put out without the help of UTStarcom. On any of the other HTC phones, you will see the UTStarcom logo on it somewhere or during startup on the phone. This is the first phone put out by HTC without the help of UTStarcom, as per the HTC representitive for the mountain west area.

I'm not sure it's the first. The Mogul was the first HTC phone in the US with an HTC logo on it, so I would say the transition started then.
Also, this is all specific to the US. When UTStarcom did help bring HTC phones to market, it was only in the Americas.
And again, HTC phones have always been 100% designed and made by HTC. UTStarcom's role in the past was more of a "facilitator" between HTC and the North American carriers, and yes, there was some UTStarcom branding as part of that relationship.
