No Caller ID!
I have a new a530. I noticed the caller ID, which is one of the most basic expected functions of a cell phone didn't seem to be working. I called Verizon and the lady said that the local number I got doesn't support caller ID. I live in the small town of Socorro, New Mexico. The lady said I could get an Albuquerque number with caller ID, but I intentionally chose verizon because they could give me a local number. I live on a university campus and we can't make long distance calls from home without using a calling card and I wanted it to be easy and free for my wife to call my cell. How could it be that people with Albuquerque numbers have caller id and it still works when they come to Socorro, but I can't have it just because I live he...

it's all system based. there are certain cities that are not compatible with caller id. by switching from NAM1 TO NAM2 you would just mess up your service. check with verizon so they can make sure your caller id is turned on in "the switch" if everything is ok in system then it's just that your number is not compatible.
