READ THIS - USB Port on Verizon TP2
One side of the mini USB port of the Verizon TP2 is squared off, so a standard mini USB cord will not work. I am saying this because when I bough mine online, I purchased the accessory package that included a car charger and case. The car charger is useless because of the different connector.

I thought this was the case too. Went to VZW store all pissed off and then the tech showed me how the standard mini USB port plugs in just fine. HTC specific accessories may have the squared off end so you can only use on HTC phones.

Mini USB devices do work on that funky HTC connector.
A guy at my work had a phone with that connection he insisted that MINI-USB worked, I told him he was crazy, he plugged it in, and it worked perfectly, I then picked up my jaw from the floor and realized, I learn something new every day.
