BlackBerry Tour 9630
unlocked GPS on Verizon Wireless!
Not sure how this hasn't come up on this forum yet. Believe it or not Verizon released the Tour with unlocked GPS. Google maps is tracking me perfectly as we speak. Looks like Verizon is finally moving in the right direction! It also sounds like all future Verizon BB's will have WIFI as well. Now if they could manage to be the first to release a 4G Iphone they'd be set up perfectly for world domination!

I was able to do this on my curve 8330 already. and you can use navegation on BB Maps

what settings did you change on your 8330? i had gps on and neither google maps or bb maps would do gps.

VZW partially unlocked GPS on the Pearl 8130 and Curve 8330 so that BlackBerry Maps could utilize the GPS, but they never completely unlocked the GPS to other applications like Google Maps regardless of your device software version. Google Maps only uses cell tower triangulation on the Pearl and Curve, which is awful to semi-awful at best.
