Iphone battery life problems?

I just read an article today on google news about the Iphone 3gS having its battery life being drained by the new OS, but i havent read any comlaints on here and was wondering if anyone else is having this problem and if they were how they fixed it. I really want this phone but only because the battery life supposedly improved and now im worried...

I took the plunge after over 5 years with Verizon and an avid Blackberry user. Amazing device, but very dissatisfied with the battery life. I have to recharge it throughout the day. It is making me think of returning it and getting the Blackberry tour. Otherwise it is truly a great device.

before you spend money on a new device and waste all the money you spent on APPS why don't you get one of those Tekkeon myPower Battery/Leather Sleeve for iPhone 3G, it doubles your battery life and its fairly cheap, I ordered one through the Apple store.
