If anyone from AT&T is reading this, you will get two phones switched over from Verizon the same day you start carrying this phone.

I would seriously consider leaving Verizon for this phone. AT&T's service in South Florida is just fine...Luke Wilson told me so on TV.

A personal observation about the performance of Nokia E-series phones on the AT&T network:

My Nokia E71x has no problem with calls/messaging/web-surfing on the AT&T network in the Washington, DC area. My husband's older Nokia E62 cell phone, which he limits to calls and messaging, also doesn't seem to have a problem.

In contrast, our son's HTC Fuze and our daughter's Samsung Impression randomly experience dropped calls, delayed messages, and waits for network connection--all symptoms of excessive iPhone demands on our regional AT&T network.

What? ๐Ÿ˜•

Are you saying HTC's and Samungs are inferior or it's due too many iPhone users?
How would that affect Nokias on ATT? ๐Ÿคจ...

If ATT does pick up this phone I am curious if WiFi will be removed by them. Also can the 'bloatware' be easily deleted?

Do some research on the E71 vs. E71x, I would guess they would leave the wifi, but that the os would suffer with "bloatware" and other restrictions. I don't see att picking up the E72 anyways, so I wouldn't get to excited.

Me, I'm happy with my unlocked E71 for now, but maybe an upgrade will come with tax returns...

I bought the E71x "out the gate" and was very disappointed: it was really great hardware that AT&T had to muck-up with all kinds of stuff I never used. I purchased a lowly E63 without AT&T's modifications, swapped my SIM and I love it. With the exception of no GPS, it does everything I needed a good smartphone to do with a minimum of fuss and muss. I've just purchased a used E72 because I've found that I actually DO need the GPS after all.
Bottom line is that I'm cured of EVER buying a branded phone again. Do yourself a favor and don't wait for AT&T to release their version of this hardware - buy it "unlocked".
