Activesync is a windows phone sync to host pc application so that one is no.

This phone does have MS exchange server functionality so push email, and other exchange based services (contacts calendar) are supported. Also Imap and aol....

Looks like only thing that will be missing is world phone (GSM) and a cool interface overlay like the HTC phones have (pinch zoom and cool personality screens).

Running generic android may be nice in that when android updates happen the phone may see updates sooner than customized versions and also it may run more efficiently as well.

I've read that with Android (if one has the know how) one can customize the device to look like whatever one wants.

I doubt it will provide push email like a Blackberry without Exchange...Thats why I need my BB. My work email (IMAP) and my AOL email are both push on BB...I wont get that on a Droid...

If it supports IMAP IDLE it will have push email when working with any server that supports this standard (which is almost all of them). IMAP IDLE is true push email based on standards as opposed to other proprietary methods, such as DirectPush.

Does anyone know whether the Android email app supports IDLE?
