I noticed that verizon charges $2.99 for virtual voicemail for the driod phones. Can you get a free app that has this capability or do you need to pay the fee? The iphone doesnt charge for it so why did verizon need to?

verizon doesn't "need" to. But they want to make a little money off of it. I think $3 is a little high, but I guess if its a feature you need you will spring for it.

The iphone app was developed by Apple, the Droid app was developed by Verizon.

there are free alternatives out there for it, and there will be more once the phone gets more popular.
