Motorola Droid
Trouble with Texting
I have to turn my phone off and back on and then it starts working normally again.
Any feedback would be great.
Still love the Droid
-Much easier to attach an image
-Will continue letting you write after you reach 160 char limit, and then will split up/combine it when it sends.
-Will automatically convert text message into MMS if you write more than three SMS worth of text (160 Char each)
-Skin-able
-Over a dozen custom fonts available
-easy way to track texting usage.
Since I don't have this problem, and apparently others don't as well, it would appear that it is something in one of your apps. I had a problem with an app one time, the speak volume suddenly just died. Even on full volume you could barely hear a ringtone. Turned out to be a flashlight app. In other words, it isn't always ...

Or does it store your inbox all individually?
For example the iphone and the palm centro/treo all keep it in chatlike boxes?
Just wondering because i love the way my centro does it.
When you first open the messaging client, you see a list of threads/conversations, with any that have new messages at the top. This is basically the way my treo650 did it, and is(IMO) far superior to a single "inbox" with all your messages that you then have to sort through to try to follow a conversation.
You can also get third-party programs, such as HandCent SMS, which is supposed to be great, though I have never seen a need for anything beyond the standard messaging client.
I have started to have the same problem, although I have not installed any Keyboard apps. I do have Handcent SMS loaded, but I do not see how that could be causing my problem. I can type out fine when the phone is in the upright position, but in landscape, it's not showing the letters as they're typed. I know that words are being inputed because when I send the text, everything shows in the text window (Strange!). The crazy part is that I just tried using it again and now it's working (Even Stranger!!). We'll see how long that lasts.
Well, other than that the Droid has been working perfectly for me.
