Bluetooth Voice Commands
Most of the other "features" sound more like new toys then anything actually important coming ...

If you get the car dock, just touch the voice command key (just like you would if you were using a bluetooth, except the voice command key is on the phone, not on the headset) This works just fine with the car mount under the rearview mirror on both my 1996 Windstar and my 2005 Neon. There's plenty of places in most vehicles you could get it closer to you than the rearview mirror on the windstar.
If you don't want to get a car dock from Verizon, get one of those universal cell phone holders. If you want to get really fancy, it isn't that difficult to find the location of the car mount's magnet, and glue on...

This is a very big time screw up by either Motorola or Google because it is one of the single most essential features of a MOBILE phone today and somehow they missed it. I would expect that it is one they would fix long before they cared about thing...

Once you have done it once, maybe twice, OK, maybe for you, a couple dozen times; for the rest of us, once or twice, you wouldn't need to look at the phone to hit the voice command button while in the car dock. A bit of effort on the placement of the car dock, in most vehicles, you could reach and trigger voice command without even taking your hands off the wheel. Something which can't be said for most of the controls in most cars.
And of course, this is probably a good time to po...

I guess you work as a salesman for Verizon and accept no critism, whether constructive or otherwise. Instead you prefer to insult your customers who have complaints. I'll just move on to AT&T again and ignore the nonsense here.
Go **** yourself.
If you load "Car Home" (either by launching manually, or by placing the droid into the car dock), the button that is at the highest position in the "arch" (whether in landscape or in portrait mode) is marked "voice search". (in landscape mode, the top of the arch is the top center of the phone. In portrait mode, it's the top right corner.
Car Home prevents the phone from locking the screen (which is why the phone will "silently activate" if you use a phone holder with a magnetic clasp). If you are not connected to power, the screen will eventually turn off, however, it is not actually locked. If you connect a power supply, it keeps the screen on, too, which me...

I have never forwarded a message (I assume you meant a text message) from any phone, so have no interest in even knowing if it can be done on this phone. I did find that I liked Handcut better then the native app though for doing any text messaging because I was able to change the font size to an easier one to read.
As far as my saying I'd "never go back to AT&T" where are you getting this nonsense from? I never le...

I'll agree that the Droid should be able to do this, but you're not breaking the law by using your hands to initiate a call.
They sure make a big deal about a lot of nonsensical differences in features between the two phones.
One Ad like that would probably get Verizon/Motorola/Google to fix this quickly.
