Skype on Droid--not on ALLY???
Is this a major factor for the choice between the two? I really prefer the keyboard on the LG ALLY much better than the keyboard on the droid. I have the STORM 2 and hate the touch keypad...so a real keyboard is what I need. Tried my sons droid and it seemed as difficult to type on as the touch keypad.
What exactly is SKYPE and is it something that I would really use alot if I chose the droid over the ALLY? (Wonder why they didn't put skype on the ALLY).

Are you sure? It is my understanding that skype will be available on all of Verizon's android phones. It could just be an testing thing? You do have to download it from the market on Droid, it isn't preinstalled.
You might be interested in the Devour as well, that does have Skype, and has a better keyboard than the droid.

So any android device running on verizon should be able to get it. It is downloaded from the market, not a core part of the OS. Even if you CAN'T get it for some reason, you can get "Fring" and connect to skype (for free) through that if you want.
and skype is awesome.
It allows you to call anyone who has a skype account for free, no matter where in the world they are
For example, I have a friend down in Colombia for the summer. He calls me on my skype number and it rings on my phone, and it's FREE.
If I needed to call a landline overseas, doing it through skype saves you up to 90% of the long distance cost.
If you don't know many people overseas, you won't see a huge benefit to it.

Menno--thanks for explaining. I honestly had no idea how much I would use it. I know so little about it that I just found out I could access it on my blackberry !
Now to decide on which droid device to purchase......
