Sync question
Exactly what happens in a sync with my google contacts? Does the web contacts list replace everything on the phone, or does the phone replace what is online, or is everything combined?
Thx,
Joey

Everything is combined, as much as possible.
For example, if you create a contact in gmail that has an email address and a birthdate, and the name is the same as a contact on your phone, the phone number will transfer to the gmail contact, and the birthday and email will transfer to your phone.
If you add facebook, it will add their facebook picture.
But it all works based on the name, so if you have a nickname in your phone, it won't sync to facebook. It would be nice if there was a way specify Contact A -> FB Name, but at least for now, there isn't a way to do it.

While there's no way to have it done automatically, there is an easy way to merge duplicates once they're on your phone. If you spot a duplicate, or a FB contact that's also a gmail contact, just tap the contact to view it, then tap menu and Edit. Once in the edit screen, tap menu and tap Join. You can then select which contact to join it with, and the two will be combined. You can also separate contacts that you have merged with the same steps.
Hope this helps!

Thanks,
It does kind of help. But, say I delete a contact from my phone, the next time I sync, it will just return the contact to my phone from my Google contacts. Or vice versa, if I delete from Google, my phone will just put it back.
Thx
