Motorola Droid
[ROOT Only] First 2.2 Rom Leaked
In the process of downloading it now. I'll let you guys know how it goes.
-2.2 Froyo build that was leaked a few days ago
-1.2ghz overclocked Kernal (also fixed Wifi)
-Flash Is installed (though kinda buggy.. dont think it is the Droid optimized version)
Quadrant Standard Results (benchmarking): http://twitpic.com/1un116
--As a side note, I would love it if someone would post their results from a 2.1 build.
Linpack: 16.812-18.663 Mflops
First off, this build is STABLE. I haven't had any random reboots, overheating, or "force closes"
When you initially install, it takes a LONG time. I was afraid I bricked my device because it sat at the Motorola logo for a good couple of minutes. But it booted up.
On the initial boot, it seems to have a "ramp up time" where the device will b...

A comment about the initial sluggishness: I suspect that's because of JIT. JIT stands for "just in time", and what it actually does is compile the (java based) app into processor native code on the fly. Once the compile is done, the app runs as native code, not java interpreted, so it will be much much faster, at the expense of being sluggish while it is compiling, becuase it is trying to run the app and run the compiler at the same time.

-The stock keyboard will now provide pu...

One downside, though: it WILL reinstall your apps for you (nice) but it doesn't preserve all the settings (for example, I use touiter as a twitter client, which allows you to colorize tweets, and set custom colors. those custom colors were lost (although Titanium backup might have been able to recover those).
Also your desktop customizations, whatever widgets you have installed. Granted none of that is *hard* to deal with, but it is something you are going to have to do, so if you embark on this path, you'll know what to expect.
