Still No news on Android 2,2
Have kept looking. Haven't found anything about if and when Droid wil get 2.2. Anyone heard anything.

I think the "IF" question is answered. At this point the only way they won't get 2.2 is if they decide to skip to 2.3 or gingerbread (assuming for the moment that gingerbread != 2.3...). There is a leaked 2.2 Kernel that runs great. I THINK that the leaked kernel doesn't even need root, but there's a rooted 2.2 as well; which happens to be what I am running now.

Looks like the N1 finally got the official 2.2 upgrade. It carries a version number of FRF85B.
The latest leaked version for the Droid is FRF84B; these are very close version numbers, and while you can't, necessarily, read a lot into that, Everything points to a July date for 2.2 on the Droid.
given my own results with the earlier versions, and some of things I have seen in the changes people are reporting, I think they are very very close to an official release.

The droid IS getting 2.2.
But giving a firm release date is asking for trouble.
Only companies with a stranglehold on the entire update process (atm, this is ONLY apple) can give firm release dates.
Everyone else has to deal with carriers.
