Camera Problems

About a month and 10 days ago, i was lucky enough to get a Motorola Droid from Best Buy. I have loved this phone!! Went to my grandmothers birthday party last weekend and took some videos but noticed that the camera stopped working afterwards. So, Wednesday i went by the local verizon store and they took my phone in the back and did who knows what to it and came back out about 15 minutes later telling me i will have to order a replacement phone that will arrive in about 2 days. That is fine with me, i have followed this procedure before. Friday the phone arrives by Fed Ex. Open the box and inspect the phone and notice on the back that the goldish cover over the speaker is dented. the phone had fingerprints on it, and just generally was...

no responses?? I will respond to myself....The FRU phone was received by Verizon today. So I called them back and I am now told that they are out of Droids....So, they will be calling me tomorrow to see if they get some more in tomorrow. Pain in the rear....I pay 200 a month for this. phone will not make a call from inside my house, they do not have an acceptable replacement in stock...what do i do?

Still trying to get a handle on the droid replacement issue... it doesn't make sense. I've heard it from multiple people though. They shouldn't be out of exchange units already.

I got a very badly worded email response today from customer service. Said they are sending me a replacement and it may take five to seven business days to receive my replacement phone. The guy i spoke to on the phone said he would overnight one to me so I could have it by Friday. I will paste just the first sentence of the email:

Mr. XXXX, we apologize for the delay however the issues that you have been having with your Motorola DROID, we current have replacement devices in stock.

the only thing i changed was my name. that is the english they used??? oh well. should i keep complaining? or just be a good little customer and take what i get for $200 a month?

If the replacement device works, I say take it. If they send you a pile of crap, by all means call them back.

Remember the people you speak to on the phone/in a store can only do so much. They are locked by policies.

Screwed up that last post....persistence pays off. they are over night shipping a Droid that should be here monday, and i wound up getting a complimentary extender for the troubles....i hope it was worth it!!! Menno, thanks for your help with everything on here.
