Unfotunately not in my case. It still does it. It is stupid to have to rebootyout phone to be able to see picture messages that you have downloaded.

Do you have a rooted phone? It occurs to me that possibly the Gallery in the leaks isn't the gallery in the final?
In any event, a complete reboot isn't strictly necessary. Connect to a PC and hit the "mount" option, then disconnect it has the same effect. There is also an unmount option in the menus under Settings - SD Card and phone Memory. Once it unmounts, if you go back in, it says "mount" (unless this is a CM6 feature...).

I downloaded scanmedia but not sure how to use it. I push on it and nothing happens and there is nothing on the menu. How do I know if it is doing anything. Maybe I should reinstall.

You're using it correctly. When you open it, ReScan is the only option, and when you talk it, the application closes. It rescans the sdcard in the background, which only takes a few seconds. Count to 5, and open your Gallery, and you should see everything show up.

*tap it, not talk it. Trying a new keyboard app and not liking the autocorrect.
