Android 2.2 Received!
I don't know why I got it early (on the 15th) and my husband and I both have the same phone-Motorola Droid...and he hasn't received it yet. But I love the changes so far. Finally my music is organized! It was all over the place. Artists and albums are all in place! I like the change in the stock camera with little see through icons on the screen (that pull ouit was a pain) but I have not found any where to change the size (even though I never do). And now 5 home screens. and keeps the screen cleaner longer with little dots to change screens instead on swiping. So far I can't complain and lots of little things were fixed.

can you organize the music and files from the phone or do you still have to use a computer to do that?

Not sure what you exactly asking. I downloaded all my music into one folder from my computer per manual instructions but when I would go to look at my music the albums were not organized, songs not together, just a mess but now everything is in alphabetical order and all the songs in each album are all together and play as an album. This all got corrected after the upgrade and I did nothing. Don't know what other "organizing" you would be looking for.
As far as pictures are concerned, as far as I know so far you still need to create files from the computer connection to arrange pics into subjects. I have 20 different folders so I can find pics quicker.

I think he's referring to moving files around on the phone itself. A file manager is still not included with 2.2, but download the application Explorer from the market. It has all the functions you get when you connect the phone to the computer via usb, create/delete folders, copy/paste files, renaming, etc. I love it.

Try restarting the phone. It appears that the gallery only rescans the directory when it has been unmounted and mounted. You can accomplish this with a reboot, or by connecting the phone to a PC and turning on USB storage mode. But if you do the connect to PC route, you might as well move on the PC.
(there's also an "unmount" command in the memory option under settings in the main menu, but there doesn't appear to be a "mount" option after the unmount, so you still have to connect to a PC or reboot; at least as far as I have been able to tell.... If you have a rooted phone you could do it terminal emulator; but if you had a rooted phone we most likely wouldn't be having this discussion.)

Yes I do know to reboot but I have over 2500 pics on my phone and sometimes it takes 20 minutes to load in after a reboot....guess I will just stick to PC connection for now...it was a dream but I love all the new changes and fixes so far with 2.2
