Motorola Droid

Is any other droid user having trouble with the txt messaging. There are times that the words that I am txting are not showing up in landscape mode. I do have the NumberPad Keyboard app installed but that shouldn't cause that. Should it?!?

I have to turn my phone off and back on and then it starts working normally again.

Any feedback would be great.

I am new to touch-screen phones, coming from a BB curve and my wife is coming from flip phone. We just got our Droid pair, mine is the Moto and got her the "free" Eris as part of the deal.

So, I have had the opportunity to play with both for a couple days now and am surprised to say I think I like her Eris better overall. Just looking to discuss a little here and see what others have to say that have tried them both...and I mean really used both, not just 10 mins in the store.

Here's my reasoning: The Eris just fits in my hand better, like the rounded corners and edge and the material on the back of phone is better, but I may end up with a silicone case anyway. It is more comfy against my ear too, and this is a phone...

Ok so I finally decided to run the update to the hacked version of Android 2.1. I have no serious complaints, but it definitely seems to lag quite a bit more than the official 2.0.1 release. On start up, I only have about 84MB of free ram as apposed to 110MB before. Just curious if anybody else has tried this and is experiencing anything similar. If so, any solutions?

OK problem number 66 is very mind baffeling to me. I tried to send a picture from my computer to my cellphone(seems easy enough) after all i think i was able to do this on lg phones for about 6 yrs now. I copy and pasted like attaching a pic to any email and when it shows up in my inbox on my phone, it only gives me the pic as a 3 second video.AMAZING IDIOTS!! just amazing, so this pic i just emailed to my phone can not only not be saved as a pic, it can only be viewed for 3 seconds..gotta laugh at that man.. i just cant believe one phone can have so many problems, i also cant believe motorola's stock hasn't crashed yet. can you?

i just got my new phone on monday and have been playing with it for 3 days now and am finding myself having many problems with the phone i have searched the threads and the only person i see on the forum that is having similiar problems is voyagerboy, my phone is dropping off wifi and bluetooth all the time it also forcloses on almost every application, this is very frustrating to me since i have long awaited to own this phone, everyone on the forum here has no options to the problems myself and voyagerboy is having everyone is pointing fingers and saying its the user, well i understand phones and computers very well and can tell you this is not a user problem, i have yet to find any solutions so far and am very glad im within my 30 days but...

Does anyone know if the update to 2.1 will fix the issues people are having with exchange email security features?

I really love this phone, but I can't get the exchange to work on it because there are features that are not supported by that phone in place.

I am looking to upgrade to the Droid from my Env Touch. I am currently using VZ Navigator. How is the navigation using Google? How does it compare?

I love my Droid, I came from a long line of blackberry's and was very nervous of switching. I can never go back now, it does everything I have ever wanted, just waiting on flash support (coming soon )and I'm set..this is it, the device I've always dreamed of. thank you for reading, jb4056.

OK. this may sound like a dumb question to those of you that have been using "smart" phones for awhile, but assuming that I am in an area that has good network coverage, and that I don't use anywhere near my data plan maximum each month, what is the advantage of using WiFi on this phone? I usually leave it turned off to save on battery life. I assume there is some advantage to using it because everyone makes a big deal about it, but I'd like to know what that advantage is. Thanks.

hey bud...another ? for ya 😁 ...last night i was playing on my eris and it said i had an update well i clicked on it and then accedently clicked out of it because i didnt think i had enough battery to do it and dont know where to go to pull it back up...i went to settings,about phone,SYSTEM UPDATE..but nothing was there...So im guessing that it may be just like a app update rather than a system update correct??? also is there a way to update it without going to manage apps and clicking on every single one that there is to see wich one it is??? everytime i go to update something it takes me to a screen called MY DOWNLOADS...but i can never seem to get there again when i want to do an update if i didnt do the update as soon as it came up on m...

And I cant wait for 2.1 firmware update.
also very nice.

The HTC Touch Pro 2 is a great phone.
If you have a lot of patience, keyboard, screen and physical buttons are nice.
But man Windows Mobile 6.5 eats a$$.
Yeah it has superior exchange support.
But what good is that if my phone is doggedly slow.
The Droid may not have the robust email controls of windows mobile for the enterprise users.
But honestly I need to get, read and quick reply to emails anyway.
So its back to the DROID for me.
Someday they will put out a firmware update that will also fix the voice dialed calls over bluetooth issue too. Someday.
Either way I am going back to the DROID.

just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING MY DAY AT WORK BETTER....ive done nothing but read these posts and you bashing him the whole entire time 🤣 🤣 ......AND since your 1 of the VERY FEW people who are knowledgeable on these phones or "devices" lol i had a ? for U....i currently use the ERIS...and no one on that forum seems to post often....im having trouble SENDING emails from my GMAIL ACCOUNT when i click on the lil red envalope to open gmail and try to reply to the message it just constintaly says sending untill i hit refresh and when i do the sending goes away but it doesent ever acctually SEND the email out 🤨 ....when i originally set it up and went to the widget i was able to send 2 messages sucessfully...now i know...

When accessing my home voice mail, I need to enter a "pause", but I do not know how to do this.

Can I plug the Droid into my car radio auxiliary plug and use it as a music device? Which software app would be best for that? I have this app called Listen that lets me collect podcasts, think I could listen to them using the auxiliary?

has anyone heard of adobe retracting their offer of flash to the droid and offering it to apple instead? just wondering because its still not here

I am a technological idiot, so I hope you guys can help me out with these 9 issues (and probably more to come):

1. I have my E-mail from AOL forwarded to my Droid, but it also seems to forward all the saved mail, as well. Is there a way to delete multiple old mails. Right now it seems to do it one at a time, which is tedious.

2. On my BB, if I had a long text message, I used to send it as an MMS. It seems that while I can write a long text, it is sent to the recipient as several texts, which can be annoying to the recipient. Is there a way to send a message as an MMS so it will be one long message

3. Is there an app that I can download that will give me the same functionality as the pinch & scroll on the iPhone?

#51. so i go to take a high quality pic with the droid, it comes out great then i find ok i cant send the pic. (i guess its too big, but the morons at motorola just decide to leave a red envelope up) but thats ok, then i hook up usb to transferr the pic and whadya know, THERES NO WAY TO MOVE THE CARD TO THE PIC. nice job motorola,now your high quality is stuck on a 2inch cellphone screen forever!

people this phone is very representitve of how americans screw everything up and will virtually do the complete opposite of what seems logical and is simply the right thing to do, it just pains me to think such stupidity c...
