BlackBerry Storm2 9550
Storm 2 or....
I still see these two devices as very different. If you are all business go Blackberry, if you are all fun so to speak go Droid. If you are in the middle thats where it becomes frustrating.
Try one out for 30 days!
But seriously, I really am torn here. I'm probably your perfect example of a middle of the road user. For those already using the Storm 2, how is it? Is it really worth the upgrade? Is it significantly better and faster than the original Storm? Speed has definitely been an issue with the Storm. I'll probably just have to wait until I can play with both of them side by side to make my final decision!

Speed is better, but I think that it has more to do with more memory at this point. OS 5.0 on Storm 1 is good too. More memory allows the OS to run smoother. I have...

I have used the BOLD and the 8900 Curve, both having Wi-Fi, and both having Wi-Fi connection issues that no other device I have used had. Are you stating the wi-fi bug has been addressed?
People on Crackberry were having all sorts of issues on the Storm2 with wifi for the first couple of days. This bug turned out to be a Verizon issue. People with $30 plans were not connecting and $45 ones were. BES was fine. That's been sorted out I believe.
What issues are you having? I am curious because I am new to wifi phones
I realize it makes less of a difference when on EVDO, but having the BOLD and Curve 8900 almost always use EDGE, while my iPod touch kept a wi-fi signal was frustrating.
The above link is my comment from the BOLD forum.

The wi-fi just would not stay connected, even though I set it up according to instructions.

I'm at the point where I'm wanting more than just a work phone. The multi-media component is really growing on me. So I got the droid on Friday. So far so good. It's a completely different ball game. The camera on the Droid isn't as good as the BB and the battery life isn't as good either. BUT it's a cool phone. I like having the ability to customize it completely and they have a lot of apps. I remember when I loaded a lot of apps on my curve my phone kept freezing up. This is not the case wi...

BTW - The only drawbacks I see with the Droid are the following:
1. No BB messenger
2. Bulky/heavy phone especially with a case on it
3. Poor battery life
4. Camera isn't great, which is very sad being that it's 5 megapixels
5. Not an international phone
Hope thi...

Battery life is a common complaint on a lot of smart phones. Seidio.com is a great place to get bigger batteries and you can always try things like turning off Bluetooth, WiFi, and adjusting screen brightness to a lower level
The Storm was the first Verizon phone to have unlocked GPS capabilities also from day 1. It has since spread to every other new blackberry and is now showing up on most Verizon smartphones. It may be shipped out of the box with the feature turned off though.
Go to "options" then "advanced options" then GPS" and make sure the "location on" box is highlighted, enable location aiding and you are good to go.
Thank you,
Robert
Thanks!
