It's a leak and not officially released anywhere of course. I think I am going to try this one after sitting out the last leak.

I must be missing the days when I used to update every 2 weeks or so with the 9530 🤣

607 pushed by Verizon Options/Advanced/Wireless
Uprgade/DL OTA. It will occupy 32Mb of memory. However, I opened with 87mb...now have 98mb. Not sure how the memory is allocated on this update.

First Impressions:
Good:
BBM is included in the core files.
Faster scroll/flick
Smoother response
Opening applications is quicker
Memory holds well
Long battery life
Theme Option page changed

Bad:
RSA SecurID Keyboard doesn't show
BBM Group Chats Keyboard doesn't show
Re-boot time is slower
If you have Launchers, you'll get a null point exception. They must be deleted & reinstalled to place selected icons back & function back

There's been some Forum talk that the Official 605 OS will not OTA from any other build than 320. ...

Something else.....when you click on the keyboard, a white box above your finger confirms your input (similar to the IPhone). If you type fast, though, it doesn't work very consistently 😡

I remember seeing this in a previous 9530 build and loved it. Now it's finally back. My fat fingers can finally see what I typed 🤣

I'm starting to log the glitches! The keytone sound only works with the bottom keys. I have suspicion my list will fil a page! 😲

I updated through Blackberry Desktop Manager for Mac and it had some trouble reinstalling the new OS. Got it to work on the second time fine. 3rd party apps went bye bye. Have most of them back now.

This build has so far solved some intermittent "click" issues I had especially with the bottom keys. It seems faster, smoother, and like a new phone again 😁

I don't use BBM so I have avoided the dreaded keyboard issue.
So far so good 😁 She is good to go until she starts getting tired of me again 🤣

It's official...They DID lose the audible keytone feature for All screen clicks. Real genious move by RIM! 😲 The bottom keys are smoother and do keytone click, however.

I did pick up an additional 12Mb of app memory. A great many of my 3rd Party apps had to be re-configured and all the activation codes re-entered. Lost all LaunchPad icons and my wallpaper mgr was blank. Random Tones erased, Luckily, WeatherBerry and QuickLaunch restored from the Media Card backup.

I change batteries several times a day so the re-boot time 7 1/2 minutes is still about the same and sucks.

All in all, the only improvement I see is a slight greater response time to app loading and navigation, and the smoother depression of the bottom keys.

Any...

BerryWeather (for OS 5.0) is now showing the animations in the normal standby portrait mode. Where as before would only snow in the landscape and full menu portrait - at least on mine.

The dimming issue, while going into landscape mode, seems to have been corrected as well.

Accelerator appears to be more responsive than before.

As for the browser; nothing notable. I was hoping the default search BING could be replaced with user preference... I suspect not in Verizon's interest.

Yea, I am not a fan of that either. Choice is good 😁

I just downloaded over the air this new storm 2 OS firmware upgrade. I'm not sure what improvements it has made. Could someone list all the changes it has made?

Secondly, what is the easiest way to transfer my Itunes library to my storm 2?

Thank you very much.....

Faster, more responsive in & out of an application.

Entire screen is touch sensitive evenly

Typing experience much improved. Slight font (redesign) resizing on portrait screen & landscape keyboard. The copy spaces has also been altered.

Calculator fonts are larger

Confirmation letters above your finger, like in IPhone

Newly designed theme option field

Bottom keys greatly improved! No more stiff like a rock key presses. This build provides press similar to the pathetic Original Storm which did have better interactive lower keys than on the Storm2...until now.

Key tone confirmation on end, escape, menu, and send keys only. No sound on screen

Camera fast and finally working right...best its been on any Storm

Lock ...

Thank you very much Stormsurvivor. Your points have been very informative and well articulated. I will study them very closely. Thanks for taking the time. By the way, how do you know so much. Do you work for Verizon? Also, when is Verizon getting the I Phone, if ever? Rumors, Rumors, Rumors.........

Thank you very much for the compliment, WFB. I appreciate it and try to be helpful in a way that was, in turn, for me as I learned from others on this forum about our device. Its become a hobby for me and I'm intrigued by the technical, operational facet (my favorite apps are utilities) that make the Storm more productive and intricate. I've learned a great deal from Hawkeye, who is my mentor on this site 🤣

No, I do not work for Verizon. They'd fire me for the animous I had waiting for the Storm 1 upgrade from .147 OS. 🤤 I'm in the furniture business. I own an Ashley Furniture Retail/Wholesale business in Bergen County N.J. and manufacture custom sofas also. We equipped Yankee Stadium with all the luxury box upholstery l...

I've known Hawkeye for sometime now. He is great and very knowlegeable!!! What specific apps do you find worthwhile downloading and that work great?

Do you really think anyone really knows when, and even if the IPhone is coming to Verizon? I don't know when the exclusive contract between AT&T and Apple is up but until it is, its not going to happen. I think the Storm 2 with this new upgrade is awesome as you do; except, I wish I could learn how to type faster. My kids love their bold and hate the touch screen typing. I guess that's typical of the younger generation. So any hints on apps and how to type faster is helpful. For example, what do you set your hover rate, swipe sensitivity, and tap interval at?

I have quite a selection of apps (over70). If I were to mention my favorites, I'd have to list QuickLaunch, MeterBerry, the upgraded BatteryBooster, RandomTones, WeatherBerry, FixmoTools, VersaTools, Vlingo, Poynt, ScoreMobil, WallpaperMgr, YouMail, QuickPull, Stitcher, SlyDial,LaunchPad, MemoryBooster, Ambiance, Google Voice, Maps, & Accelodex. They all execute and provide productivity for the device.

You might try to keep your fingers close to the screen when typing and use fingers from each hand. I never cross centerline with one or the other. My typos have diminished with this new build.

I've played around with the speed controls for typing for a long time. Tried several combinations and have come across what I feel is a winner...
