BlackBerry Storm2 9550
A Look at the BB 6.0 OS
This actually looks very promising, there are a lot of subtle changes that you would miss if you're not a BlackBerry user. New features and refinements:
- Slide the homescreen icons to pull up the Application Menu.
- "Extended Search" in the Media player which searches your library of multimedia while also searching YouTube, and presumably the internet.
- Cover flow style media player.
- New YouTube application, more iPhone style looking.
- Pinch to zoom added to photos.
- Some sort of Quick Menu to switch applications, zoom, set as wallpaper, all within multimedia.
- Touching the notifications area on the home screen causes all of your "Today" content (Messages, Calls, Calendar events) to slide down.
- Improved HTML...

I read that the 6.0 OS will also work well with a trackpad and qwerty keyboard, although, I imagine, it would have to work somewhat differently than on a touch-screen device.

There are aftermarket keyboards offered for the Storm2 right now. One that comes to mind is the Freedom Pro Bluetooth keyboard.

There are several that come with a portable monitor for further convenience. It seems implausible to use the keyboard with a 3" cell phone screen, unless your a text-o-holic.. 🙄
6.0 might have software adaptability but its compatability with accessory devices has not yet been released.

Actually, I was referring to other Blackberry models with a keyboard. When I posted my comment, I forgot that I was on the Storm2 forum, not on the Verizon forum.

Your forgiven! 😁 Storm2 owners are a unique breed. Once you have a full screen to look at, its hard to carry around 1/2 a phone with that hard qwerty. FYI, its my understanding the devices applicable right now for the new 6.0 OS are:
* Bold 9650
* Pearl 9100 and 9105
* Bold 9700
* Storm2 9520 and 9550
Its a good thing to have a visitor to this forum once in a while....
