Removing App. from Home Sceen
Downloaded a App called RestartMeStub, did not work, deleted it from Downloads, but when I press and hold the Blackberry key, it still shows it running in the back ground. When I press on the Icon nothing happens and I can't find it anywhere else. Is there a way to get rid of it? I have pulled the battery a couple times. Help please.
Thank you,
Robert

The reason this app is still appearing is because you deleted it from DLs. You may have removed the icon but it will always re-appear on re-boot or if you change themes. Launcher icons (ie. LaunchPad & popups from Versatools). You can never get rid of them! Its always best to remove any app utilizing device memory from the options/application field. The icon will not remove from your device. It is not functioning, however the modules remain in the registry. Just hide it or create a "junk" folder and let it reside in there.
I wouldn't worry about any drainage or adverse affect on your device. I have an app called "What's Running." It shows 69 apps currently running/waiting (18% of 370 apps on phone). My switch application screen on...

Sorry for so many questions, when you press and hold the Blackberry button and the small menu in the middle pops up, I thought that is what was running in the background? I can push and open all the icons in that scroll menu, except the RestaryMeStub. It doesn't seem to be doing anything. I haven't received the new wireless upgrade, have you loaded it? I haven't heard much good info. have you loaded it?
Thanks again,
Robert

I wouldn't be concerned with the restartme kernal. There are numerous resources running in the background that do not appear in the switch-app menu. Active ones will invoke, but proprietory items such as BB Messenger, phone, and other core applications will continue to appear, regardless of how many times you try to close them.
As for OS 5.0.0.713, I am running it now on my new replacement 9550. I did not have a good experience with the OTA. My Storm2 was corrupted with a Null Pointer Java Exception and rendered virtually worthless.
I would recommend waiting for the upgrade to appear on Desktop Manager or doing without it for now. No big deal unless your Japanese! They had a big to-do about that as a prominent feature. I did no...

Hi Guys,
I am not very good at explaining things, but anyway, all you need is an app called BBSAK, you can find it on the web, simple and free thing.
Install it
Connect your BB
Run BBSAK
Press Modify CODs
Read System
Find the restartmestud COD in the righthand window
Highlight restartmestud
press Remove CODs
BB will restart
Forget your problems with nasty RestartMeStud!
Well, that's it. And yes, enjoy your life.
Cheers
