BlackBerry Storm2 9550
using 9550 only over wifi
a friend gave me her old 9550. is it possible to only turn on wifi, connect to a router and use all web apps or do i need to register this phone with verizon? i'de like to use it like the ipod touch wifi only.
i'de turned off mobile network and bluetooth. i turned on wifi. connected to a router and when i try to browse the web i get "unable to connect to the internet, please try again later". when i look at the router settings on the 9550 phone i get info so i am connected.
my laptop is connected to this router over wifi without any problems.

The reason you cannot connect onto the internet is that the device is locked into a required data plan for their network to access OTA output....
RIM makes the Storm2 to be only available to VZW customers.
