Opinions? Advice?
Well I currently have the LG enV touch, and for the most part it is a decent phone. I like the fact that it is not that bulky and the QWERTY keyboard, plus the touchscreen. My friend wants to start a contract with Verizon and she is going to buy the Motorola Droid for herself and offered to buy me the Droid Eris, which I am very found of. From what I have seen the Eris is a very customizable phone, and I love that in a phone. I like to make a phone like what I want and more like me, not what it lets me be. The commericals say that it is a "phone that gets you", and I was just wondering, is that true? Is it very customizable? Or just a little bit more then the others? Should I ditch my enV touch for a Droid Eris? I am not the type of person t...

I initially wanted the Eris. I LOVE the Android software, but for plan cost reasons, I opted for the EnV Touch.
My mom, on the other hand, has the Eris. It is great for someone who uses the internet frequently and wants to use Apps. If you are not big on these things, stick with the EnV Touch. My mom was quite miffed after she played with my phone (after paying an arm and a leg for her new plan!)
It is more customizable than the Touch, but again, that goes to say because of Android. My co-worker has the HTC Hero (Sprint's Eris) and absolutely loves it. He always has some new application he is playing with. He was even able to set it up to access his home computer.

I don't see why the price is so outrageous on the Eris. Its the same smartphone pricing Verizon has offered for years, which they now require on all 3g devices(minus the 10 they removed from the list here recently). This may be a moot point however because your friend would have to have 2 eligible lines on their account to take advantage of the BOGO. Will you be using the other line on their plan. You don't just get the other phone for free with no strings attached. Its under a 2 year contract that must be activated at the time of purchase.

Well she wants to start a new contract. She has good credit, and I don't really care about the 2 yr. contract, never have. I actually like Verizon, most times, unless this phone fails me and starts glitching. Then I will have a problem with them. The only problem is to have someone take over my Touch line.

Well now that the people at home are starting to hog up the computer to where I cannot use the internet when I need to, I think I might just start using the internet on the phone. I tried to get apps on my Touch but unfortunately they do not have the app store for that phone. I like the phone but it has just given me nothing but trouble and it is very frustrating. 👿
