Adjusting Vibration
Was wondering if it was possible to increase or decrease the vibration on the phone. Curious because my wife's phone seems to be not as strong as mine. I can't find any settings ... thanks

You can change the vibration settings, but I believe that you need to do it separately for each notification. Thing is, I don't believe that many (or any) of the included apps allow you to change this. You can, however, download replacement apps in most cases, and some of those allow you to change the vibration style.

Just go into the applicable app's settings and correct it. Also, 2.1 has a Profiles widget that makes these settings easier to access for phone calls and such. Otherwise, it's possible that the vibration function on your phone is broken, but that isn't terribly common.

The vibration on this phone is horrible. by far the worst of any phone I've owned. For text msgs, I believe handscent has an option to change the vibrate pattern. I'm not sure if any of the dialer apps (dialer one for example) allow you to set vibrate patterns or not, but without root there is no way to make any of them the default dialer. I haven't messed with any of the email programs (touchdown,k9, etc..) so I can't speak to those.

i liked the vibration myself. my other phones made a rattle sound like the battery cover didnt fit the phone. i just want it back. i cant have my phone ringing during school or lunch everytime i receive a txt. [100+ times a day]

i beg to differ....google "how to fix HTC Droid Eris vibration" and all you see is how it eithe vibrates and doesnt ring or doesnt vibrate anymore. every forum i read, no one knows how to fix it other than exchange the phone for a new one. apparently it only happens after you legally update the software. the leaked version does this in some cases. [ both have a considerable amount of malfunctions] i think the upgrade was rushed. my apps force close randomly and my weather on the bottom of my clock doesnt work anymore. my LG Dare phones [all 4] had far worse problems and more. i simply turn the volume up on my phone to know i have a txt now.

Have you tried a master reset? Honestly, my vibration changed a bit, but only in terms of style. (It's more of a kick for certain events, rather than a buzz.) The only issue that I've noticed with 2.1 is my Mail icon not updating the number of unread messages for anything other than the default account at times.
