Motorola V600
Bluetooth Problem with ATT V600
If I search for BT devices with my phone, I don't see any, even though both my computer and my PDA are BT'd.
I can find the phone with my computer and PDA, but can't seem to connect. I also tried using Mobile Phone Tools. Even thought the phone is in "discoverable" mode, Mobile Phone Tools can not find it. BT is on and in discoverable mode. I have no problem connecting the computer and PDA, so the BT on both of those devices is working fine.
Any ideas? Am I being stupid?
thanks
Don't kill me for asking this, but, are you putting the phone in discoverable mode before searching for devices on your PC? It should at least see the phone. Then you can pair them with identical PINs. Once they are paired, fire up phonetools.
Dial-up networking gateway
OBEX file Transfer
OBEX Object Push
Voice Gateway
Which one is the appropriate one to pair with before trying to use Mobile Phone Tools?
I rebooted the phone and can now pair with the file transfer service. I can now see the phone when I use Mobile Phone Tools, but when I try to connect to it I get a message saying "Comm Port Installation Failed". This is after entering and having the PIN code accepted. Any ideas?
thanks

Method 2:
From v600, settings/connection/bluetooth link/setup/find me
"Discoverable in 60 seconds"
From IPQA, Bluetooth Manager/Search, it found the Motorola Phone. The ...

First I paired the phone with the computer using the Bluetooth setup wizard. It created 4 options, 1 of which was dial up networking.
Then I started MPT, but canceled instead of having it search for a bluetooth connection.
Then go to setup, general setup and click on the "communication" tab. Click "change modem" and set it up for V600 bluetooth.
Now it works.
You may have to first connect to the dial-up connection through the bluetooth setup wizard, but I'm not sure if this is really necessary. Don't actually have it dial anything though.
Good luck
