Motorola Devour

Google Motoblur v. Sense UI for some opinions and direction. It's helpful. They are both interfaces (Moto v. HTC) used on Android phones. They make the stock Android smoother and easier to use. I don't know much about Motoblur, but it seems to be more appealing to people who use their phones for mostly social networking, etc. I use my phone for almost everything and I love Sense. Unlike UIs that control you, you control the UI, and make it do whatever you want (to a point-there are just a few things HTC doesn't let you get rid of). HTC has their own widgets in addition to Android's. As to sensitivity, I think the HTC is almost too sensitive rather than not enough. i have the lg dare [this is my 4th one].i kan finally upgrade and i wanted the htc droid eris but my dad won't pay for the $30 data plan required. I have a premium plan. can i get this phone and not have to change my plan? This phone isn't on the website yet.

This is an Android phone. There is no way you can get an Android phone without the $30 data plan at a minimum. There's no reason to own an Eris, Droid, or Devour without data - they are made for internet/multimedia similar to an iphone (but better).

i live on the internet on my dare and as far as i know u have to get that data plan with the dare now...since i already have it i dont have to...y did verizon have 2 ruin everything!!!? now i cant get a phone better than mine without changing my plan.....i guess i have 2 get an old smartphone like the htc xv6900 or something..i think i can get the old ones without that new data plan

Also, the premium plan doesn't even exist anymore. The old connect and premium plans were replaced with two new data plans, 9.99/25mb with an overage of 20¢/mb, and 29.99/unlmt plan. But anyway back to the original post. It all depends on what you're looking for. The Blur is all about the social networking, the amount of incorporation that can be done between your contact list and twitter/facebook/myspace is phenomenal. The droid is just a powerful phone, lightning fast web browsing, running on the android 2.0 software. And, along with the devour, has that physical keyboard that gives you the option to use the on screen or physical keyboard. Although on the downside there is no physical send/end key. Well one thing about the snappiness. Some people mention lag on the phone, but I gotta say, my flip phone has lag problems... I can't tell you how many people I've called because I press a button and it's not doing what I wanted it to do and so I press a button again and then it happens to have loaded up just as I was pressing it.

You're going to deal with lag issues not matter what phone it is. Period. I mean maybe not on a Nexus One but... is T-Mobile really worth it? I personally don't have that kind of money so I'll get what I can take. The Eris seems to be the best for me.

My wife has the premium package on her Env2 still. Most companies will grandfather you until something happens that requires a plan change.

Something to consider, however: the premium plan adds $20/mo. (maybe a bit less with the discount, it depends). None of the android phones are compatible with the premium plan, which means they are going to drop the $20 anyway. So they drop the $20, and add $30, that's a net change of only $10. (less if they discount both the $20 and $30 portions (those employee discount plans vary widely). Slightly more if they discount the $20, but NOT the $30.)

I've done some research. I will end up changing my current plan. My misunderstanding was that I would have to add $30 to my premium plan. I won't! I will have to get a nationwide plan [the $59.99 one] to keep my unlimited texting and add the data package. This will make my bill incredibly similar to my current one. I will surely get the Droid Eris now that I know this. Thanks for your information. Phonescoop has taught me more than any Verizon Rep in the store.
