VX6000 Tutorial
Hello everybody,
There's quite a few hidden things you can do on this phone; like force it into speakphone mode.
I've been searching around for information for about three months now. With what I've come up with, I've compiled into a tutorial at http://home.nycap.rr.com/stopcbt/vx6000.html
Feel free to visit.
Peace,
Matt

total confusion:
does the LG 6000 have a SPEAKERHONE ???
NOT according to anything i've seen, including the data sheet on this phonescoop site. i've been looking for an excellent sp.phone, and am now waiting for the LG 4500. Am i wrong ???
any thoughts on the other speakerphones at verizon : eg; motorola v60s, audiovox 8600, or any others to work with verizon ? (i need great reception - i'm in a bad 'pocket', and a clear display - for aging eyes)
thanks, pete

Yes, the vx6000 does have the option of being used as a speakerphone. However, this feature requires a mildly complicated activation process that once turned on becomes difficult to turn off (If you turn speakerphone on, then the process is just as difficult to turn it off) However, if this option is still appealing to you, you can do it by yourself, the directions for which can be found on the phone's webpage at www.vx6000.com

i checked out both sites....
at www.vx6000.com - i found NO info on forcing the phone into speakerphone mode.
at http://home.nycap.rr.com/stopcbt/vx6000.html - i found instructions but it did not work on my phone. i have software version: T60LGV06....which is not the "newer" version as mentioned in the tutorial....so.....i'm not sure why it isn't working.
has anyone else had any luck with this???

Thanks for the website! I looked there hoping it might tell me how to set the phone so that it makes some kind of audible beep to alarm you that a message has been left or you missed a call, but didn't see anything like that there.
Do you happen to know how to be able to do this?

At least for the US Cellular version, you can get notification that you have a new message. go to the message submenu, then message alerts. you can set different sounds, or even ringers, for emails, voicemails, and text messages. you can also make it vibrate. to use a ringtone, just go to 'custom ringtone and it will go through the ringers you have in your phone. hope that helps a little
