The waiting period says 1-2 weeks until it's in stock but realistically isn't Sprint going to fill their own stores with a surplus of phones before sending mass phones to Wirefly? I want the phone sooner rather than later but I don't want to deal with Sprint's mail in rebate B.S... Does anyone know if you can cancel your order before it ships if a bricks and mortar store happens to have a phone in stock and I buy that it from there (such as Walmart, Radio Shack or Best Buy)???

NO! The answer is no! wirefly is ridiculous and once the order is placed...you're done...plain and simple. all of those mobile retailers are a mess. I'd rather pay Sprint and mail in the rebate than deal with 3rd party retailers. While in Tucson, AZ last week, I went to a best buy store and pre-orders are now finished. The wait list is long at the local sprint stores and with stores only receiving a minimal quantity each time, I was told that my wait is at least one week, possibly three. Sprint B&M store told me that ordering online is possibly quicker and, of course, there is no activation when ordering online. The Sprint website is hit or miss. One minute they have phones, the next minute they don't.

The 189 price is for new service or an upgrade. I upgraded my service and it was painless.
There is nothing wrong with wirefly. I ordered my EVO from them on opening day for 169 and recieved it 4 days later. In fact, I've dealt with them for years and have no complaints. Yes, you can cancel the order prior to shipping. When I ordered, the order status page had a button the cancel the order, which was available prior to shipping. If you can wait 20 days, this is the best deal around.
