HTC EVO 4G

I cannot get the app to longer work since they added Howard Stern, this is the only phone that the app does not work on. Sprint and Sirius have no help insight. I have seen fixes by changing my MSL# but not sure I want to start messing with my phone and then possibly screw up the phone worse. Does anyone know anything about this? Sprints customer service is probably the worse I have ever dealth with, I was disconnected 3 times the tech support person didnt know what to say or give and answer. What POS ... any help please feel free to comment. EVO was the best phone but at this point it completely sucks and is no better than any other phone out there, also 4G keeps getting pushed back and I continue to pay for something I am not recieving. :...

Well, after whining on here that I could not decide whether to buy the new iPhone 4 and renew my AT&T contract or go to Sprint for the new EVO I took the advice of fellow forum members and purchased an HTC EVO 4G from Sprint. People suggested I buy it and try it for 30 days and return it if I was not happy. If I was happy I could cancel my AT&T contract at that time.

After four days I am going to be returning the EVO 4G on monday and ordering the iPhone 4 on tuesday.

Do not get me wrong, the EVO4G is an amazing phone and my review of it in the EVO review section will be a glowing one. Although I do have a few minor physical build issues with the phone, the problems I have with it are mostly carrier related.

So, about signing up for new service. Is the price the same where ever you go? It seems like Amazon and or Costco will toss in a few extra goodies like a auto charger or something. But is the monthly price the same no matter where I go? I am in Portland Oregon.

As with most, if not all batteries, it needs a break in period, so if you have had the EVO for less than a week, you may think the battery is weak. Give the battery and phone time to acclimate to each other and your usage habits.

My battery lasts over a day with moderate usage. I also do not use any task killers.

I love sprint, will never leave!

With that said, why the hell do they NOT want people to have their phones? Why is the EVO still $199.99 with MIR? Why is the HTC touch pro 2 not a free phone when it’s now outdated? Why not a BOGO deal for smart phones like other company’s who want their customers to have their coolest phones to show off to their friends??

Finally got the EVO, surprised that battery life really sucks. I only get 3-4 hrs max out of it with just regular use (some emails , txt and web).

I can buy the extended battery as I am not always near the charger. What have you guys done to get atleast 6 hrs out of the phone..

I have the HTC weather widget it shows the current date but doesn't display the wheather. I checked the GPS setting and its working.

a) Any recommendation on hard case which will protect the phone.
b)What extra battery to get as the original battery is not as good.
c)What apps to root to kill and extend the battery life longer.

My last cell phone was a Motorola brick, so i am starting out from scratch. My only two "must have apps" is FM radio, and the ability to video conference (with or with out Wi-Fi, but I would rather do it with 4G).

My friend has a Apple iPhone4. I hear that a app called Tango can cross platforms. Are other apps around that will let me video conference with my iPhone4 friend?

My search has narrowed to the HTC EVO 4G and the HTC My Touch 4G. I do not know which to choose. All other things being equal I guess I want a bigger screen, however, I do not want to or rarely will watch TV and movies on my smartphone. I will use the screen for video conference.

I am a new EVO owner and I was just wondering am I wasting my time installing Advanced Task Killer on my EVO? The reason I ask is b/c when I was with Verizon wireless I had the Motorola DROID X and the Samsung Fascinate and the Verizon rep I dealt with informed me that if I didn't have Advanced Task Killer my smartphone would be really slow. When I purchased my EVO last night the Sprint sales rep I dealt with told me not to install Advanced Task Killer on my EVO or it will dramatically slow it down, whats the deal here? Also how do I install swype texting on my EVO I found a video on youtube that walks you through the process but when I get to where it is time to install the swype file it says that it cannot install it. Can anyone give me some sound advice as to which phone is better. I currently have T-Mobile and its time for an upgrade. Half of me wants to go ahead and get the MyTouch 4G, but at the same time the EVO is really tempting. The specs look almost identical for both phones. I am a Sprint Premiere Customer, and I have the top of the top plan, and it's clearly stated as "EVERYTHING"... that I would never need to pay for anything extra.

I currently am paying over $129 for a "Everything Data" plan that includes unlimited data

You state that the $10.00 Premium Data add-on is for the HTC EVO only.. but isn't the name of my plan the "Everything Data"? Everything implies "ALL INCLUDED", thus any additional add-on should be on Sprint.
